ABOUT THE HOMEPAGE QUIZ

What is the Bing Homepage Quiz?

The Bing Homepage Quiz on BingQuiz.org is an image-based memory and trivia challenge. Unlike standard trivia formats that test what you know from text alone, the Bing Homepage Quiz tests two things at once: what you observe and what you know about the subject shown.

Every quiz on this page is built around a single photograph. Seven questions are written around that image and its subject. The image is the starting point for everything on this page. Without it, the questions have no context.

A new image and question set are published every Wednesday and Sunday at midnight. Every image is sourced, researched, and verified by the BingQuiz team before going live.

HOW THE HOMEPAGE QUIZ WORKS

How the Homepage Quiz works

Study the image for 15 seconds, then answer 7 questions about it before the 65-second timer runs out.

  1. 01

    Study the Image

The Bing Homepage Quiz loads with a blurred image preview behind the Start Quiz button. The blur is intentional; it tells you something is there worth seeing without giving it away before you are ready. Click Start Quiz, and the image appears in full on screen. No questions yet. Just the image. You have 15 seconds to study it. Use this time to identify the subject, take in the details, and observe as much as you can before the clock runs out.

  2. 02

    Answer 7 Questions

After 15 seconds, the image disappears completely, and all 7 questions appear on the page. The 65-second timer begins at this point. Each question has 4 multiple-choice options with one correct answer. If you want to review or change a previous answer, you can navigate back to any earlier question before submitting.

  3. 03

    Submit and Review

Once all 7 questions have been answered, hit submit to see your results. If the 65-second timer completes before you submit, the quiz wraps up automatically with your current answers recorded. After submission, all 7 correct answers appear on the same page, each accompanied by a short explanation covering the subject shown in the image. Your final score determines your rank on the Bing Homepage Quiz from Wanderer through to Mastermind.

WHY THIS WAY

Why we designed the Bing Homepage Quiz this way

Most image-based quizzes keep the image visible throughout. We made a different decision deliberately.

When an image stays on screen while questions appear, the quiz becomes a reading exercise rather than a genuine challenge. The Bing Homepage Quiz is built around something harder and more interesting than that.

Fifteen seconds to observe. Then the image disappears. Then, there are seven questions based on what you saw and what you know about it. This format tests observation and knowledge together, which no standard trivia format does.

IMAGE SELECTION

How the image is selected

Every image published on the Bing Homepage Quiz is selected by the BingQuiz team before it goes live. Each image is chosen based on three criteria: it must be visually rich enough to hold attention for 15 seconds, factually deep enough to support 7 distinct questions, and clear enough that the subject can be identified within the observation window.

Not every photograph qualifies. The images selected for the Bing Homepage Quiz carry weight behind them. A landmark with centuries of history. A species whose survival story spans continents. A moment captured in time that changed how the world saw something. A work of art created by someone whose life and legacy run deeper than the image itself. Every image on this page has a story worth knowing, which is why 7 questions can be built around it and why the explanations after submission go beyond just the correct answer.

Images are drawn from a broad range of themes, including world landmarks, wildlife, nature, geography, science, space, art, and culture. The theme rotates with each new image, so no two consecutive quizzes cover the same subject area. On significant dates such as national holidays, global awareness days, or major international events, the image reflects that occasion.

Before any image goes live, the subject is confirmed, the context is researched, and all 7 questions are built around verified information related to that subject. The image and its question set are reviewed together as a single unit before publishing.

TIPS

Tips for the Bing Homepage Quiz

1

Identify the subject first

The moment the image appears, focus on identifying what it is. A landmark, a species, an event, a person. Once you know the subject, most questions become answerable even without noticing every detail in the image.

2

Scan actively, not passively

15 seconds is short. Do not just look at the image; read it. Look for location clues, text, architectural style, natural features, or anything that gives context. Every detail you register is a potential answer.

3

Use the go back feature

If a later question triggers your memory about an earlier one, go back and update your answer before the 65 second timer runs out. Questions on the same image are often connected.

4

Build broad knowledge

The image could be anything from a Roman monument to an endangered species. Players with broad general knowledge across history, science, nature, and art consistently score higher than those with deep knowledge in only one area.

5

Read the explanations

Every explanation covers the full story behind the correct answer. What you learn from one quiz often connects to a future one.
